So that you can be sure which Traveler fits in your car, we have summarized all the relevant information here.

In principle, we have developed and optimized the 3 Traveler models regular , compact and max for 3 different car types:

  •

    - regular -
    for station wagons

    and large SUVs

Station wagons are known for their large trunks and, as all-rounders and all-purpose cars, they are still the ultimate choice for anyone who wants more than just a car.

e.g.: VW , Golf, Passat Variant, ID.7; Skoda Octavia, Superb, Kodyak; Audi S5 Avant, Q6; BMW , Mercedes C, ET model, and much more.

  •

    - compact -
    for SUV

    and small station wagons

SUVs are higher than station wagons, but usually have a smaller trunk depth. They are very popular due to their good driving comfort and increased ground clearance.

e.g.: VW , ID.4; Skoda Enyak; Audi S5 Avant, Q6; BMW , Mercedes C, ET model, and much more.

  •

    - max -
    for caddies

    and vans

Caddies & Vans are unbeatable in terms of the space they offer. For families with several members or large sports equipment, they are definitely the space miracle without alternatives.

e.g.: VW , ID.4; Skoda Enyak; Audi S5 Avant, Q6; BMW , Mercedes C, ET model, and much more.

Due to the large number of vehicle versions, we cannot say in general which Traveler will suit your car.

We are happy to help you choose the right Traveler and if you still have any questions, please send us an email to info@squiq.de.

To give you guidance, we are constantly testing new car models.

You can find an overview of all car models tested so far here.

Here comes our compatibility check in 3 steps:

1. Are the necessary mounting points available in your car?

  • The rear attachment points are essential.
  • They should not be located above the trunk loading edge.
  • The included ratchet straps have a hook at both ends, which you only have to hook into the standard luggage securing straps before tightening the strap using the ratchet.

2. Do you have a double trunk floor in your car?

  • It definitely makes sense to remove it. This way, the space under the pull-out can also be used.
  • Of course, you can also leave the double bottom in.
  • You can adjust the height to the loading edge using the Traveler's height-adjustable feet (up to 18 cm).

3. Check the dimensions of your trunk

All you need is a ruler and a large rectangular cardboard box or 2 carpenter's squares and a little tape - and off you go.

3A - The maximum width between the wheel arches

  • regular : min. 92 cm
  • compact : min. 92 cm
  • max : min. 112 cm

3B - The relative depth of the trunk.

  • Because the distance between the rear seats and the trunk lid usually decreases towards the top, measure about 25 cm above the loading edge of the trunk.
  • The easiest way to do this is to fold down part of the back seat and attach a corresponding marking to the trunk lid and back seat, e.g. with masking tape.

  • regular : min. 88 cm
  • compact : min. 78 cm
  • max : min. 88 cm

The next measurement check is only relevant for you if you want to order the Traveler with camping boxes - our recommendation to get the most out of the Traveler!

3C - The usable height:

  • Due to the shape of the tailgate it will be a bit challenging now but don't worry, you can do it!
  • To ensure that the trunk can still be closed when the squiq camping boxes are installed, there needs to be some space between the outer corners of the boxes and the sloping tailgate. This is the easiest way to do it:
  • Determine the vertical axis of an outer corner of the box ??? Easy:

  • regular : min. 88 cm
  • compact : min. 78 cm
  • max : min. 88 cm

a) Measure from the center of the trunk outwards.

  • regular : min. 46 cm
  • compact : min. 46 cm
  • max : min. 56 cm

b) Measure from the closed trunk lid to the rear

  • regular : min. 18 cm
  • compact : min. 13 cm
  • max : min. 9 cm
  • Mark the point where a) and b) meet.

c) Measure at right angles to the trunk floor up to the window.

  • To do this, you can use a rectangular cube (cardboard) that is as large as possible. (We prefer to use two carpenter's squares that we attach to each other with adhesive tape.) Place it on the floor of the trunk so that one corner is positioned at the point that you previously marked.
  • Determine the distance between the loading edge and the tailgate / window along the vertical edge.

  • regular
  • compact
  • Max

3D - The opening of the side flaps

  • To ensure that the side flaps of the camping boxes open completely when the Traveler is extended and can be used as an additional work surface, check one last measurement: the distance between the front edge of the extension and the rear edge of the rear light .
  • To do this, measure 3 cm back from the inside surface of the closed trunk lid and mark the point on the trunk floor with a piece of masking tape. This is roughly where the front edge of the pull-out will need to be placed later.
  • Determine the distance from the previously determined point to the rear edge of the tail light.
  • The same measurement applies to all models.

  • all : max. 16.5 cm
